Detailed Solution

The bill against domestic violence was introduced in Parliament in 2005. Domestic violence, as the name suggests, is when a man, often the husband, injures or harms his wife or threatens to do so. Both physical and emotional abuse of the woman has the potential to result in harm. Verbal, sexual, and financial abuse are all examples of how a woman can be abused. The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act was enacted by the Indian government in 2005 to protect women from domestic abuse. The definition of "domestic" is expanded by this law to encompass any women who "dwell or have lived together in a common household" with the male perpetrator.
