The Block Panchayat is composed of Four groups of members.
The Panchayati Raj system plays a vital role in the functioning of democracy. It helps democracy to achieve decision-making and policy-making at the grassroots level. There are Three Levels of Panchayatsssi Raj Institutions in India. The village level, block level, and district level are three different levels of local self-government. A Panchayat Samiti is an institution at the block level. It is also called Janpad Panchayat. The block panchayat comprises four members: ex-officio members, co-opted members; associate members; and some elected members. All the sarpanches are ex officio members under the Panchayat Samiti area of the state.
