Detailed Solution

The Bolshevik Revolution took place on 24th October 1917. After the demise of the February Revolution, Bolsheviks began to talk about bringing a socialist revolution in the summer of 1917. The Provisional government took stern measures as the influence of Bolsheviks grew on the trade unions and workers.
Lenin thought the Provisional Government would establish a dictatorship as the confrontation between them and the Bolsheviks escalated. So, he convinced the Petrograd Soviet and the Bolshevik Party to approve a socialist takeover of power on 16th October 1917. The Soviets created a Military Revolutionary Committee headed by Leon Trotsky to plan the takeover. The occasion's day was kept a mystery. Finally, on 24th October, the revolution started.
