Detailed Solution

In March 1918, the Bolsheviks made peace with Germany in Brest-Litovsk. The Brest-Litovsk Deal was a peace treaty signed by Germany and Russia. The peace accord marked Russia's exit and the establishment of peace with Germany. Vladimir Lenin, the Bolshevik leader, took power in October 1917. In February 1917, he overthrew Alexander Kerensky's interim government. People were afraid due to the events of the First World War, so Lenin proclaimed the Decree of Peace. The immediate withdrawal from the First World War had severe territorial ramifications. Germany gained and maintained sovereignty over those territories.
