Detailed Solution

The British sent troops to suppress the rebellion in Bastar in 1910. The Adivasi people of the princely state of Bastar in central India staged the Bastar Rebellion, sometimes referred to as the bhumkal (earthquake), in 1910 against the British Raj. British colonial regulations regarding the utilisation of the forests were the main cause of the uprising. The British colonial administration started setting aside forests for specific companies to use as reserves. Since indigenous people were prevented from using the forests as a source of income and frequently had their communities relocated, the colonial authority was widely despised. The British surrounded and opened fire on the Adivasi leaders' camps as they tried to negotiate a settlement. They flogged and punished those who had taken part in the uprising. People fled into the jungles, leaving most settlements deserted.
