Detailed Solution

The Britishers, or the outsiders, were called dikus by the tribal people. The tribal people regarded the British, moneylenders, and traders as "dikus," or strangers. They believed that all of their issues were the fault of the dikus. The tribal people were forced by the British to give up their method of shifting cultivation and settle down to become small-scale farmers. The traders and moneylenders entered the forests to buy the forest products, enticing locals to take out high-interest loans. The tribal people got trapped in the debt cycle and spent the rest of their lives there. The tribal chiefs, who had previously held a position of authority among their people, were unable to carry out their customary duties due to British rule. After being ejected from their lands, the tribal people were forced to look for new residences.
