Detailed Solution

The burden of financial activities of the state through taxes was borne by the Third estate.
The French society was divided into 1st, 2nd and 3rd estates. The division was based on occupation. The Third Estate had to pay all the taxes. And increasingly, the taxes became very problematic for those people who didn't have the money for their own survival. The nobility and clergy had all the luxuries through this taxation policy, which was only for normal subjects of France. On 5 May 1789, Louis XVI called together the meetings of the estate general to impose new taxes. The Third Estate didn't want to increase it because it was destructive for everyone. The King rejected their demand. Later on, France witnessed various protests that led to the French Revolution. It is considered a significant event in world history.
