Detailed Solution

The burning train accident took place in Gujarat in the year 2002. On the morning of February 27, 2002, a fire broke out inside the Sabarmati Express train close to the Godhra railway station in the Indian state of Gujarat, killing 59 Hindu pilgrims and karsevaks who were travelling back from Ayodhya. The panel formed by the Gujarati government to look into the train fire spent six years reviewing the case's specifics and came to the conclusion that a Muslim mob of 1,000 to 2,000 persons had intentionally ignited the fire. The central government appointed a commission that declared the fire to be accidental; however, that committee's creation was ultimately determined to be unlawful. A jury found 31 Muslims guilty of both the crime's commission and the conspiracy to commit it.
