Detailed Solution

Height of the vessel = 1 m
Capacity of the vessel = 15.4 lines
= 15.4/1000 m3  = 0.0154m3 Volume of the cylindrical vessel = r2 h
=0.0154
= 22/7 x r2 x 1= 0.0154
r2 = 0.0154x7/22 = 0.0049
= r =0.07 m
Metal sheet needed to make the cylindrical vessel = T.S.A of the cylindrical vessel.
= 2 r (r+h) 0
= 2x22/7 x 0.07 (0.07+1) m2 = 0.4708 m2 ∴ 0.4708 m2 of sheet will be required to make the vessel.
