The Central Highlands of the Indian plateau region is wider in the west.
The Peninsular Plateau is also called the plateau of Peninsular India. One of the divisions of the peninsular plateau is the Central Highlands which are wider in the west. Central Highlands is located to the north of the Narmada river. It covers the major part of the Malwa plateau. On the western side, Central Highlands is much wider compared to the eastern side. On the east side, there is Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand region. Major rivers that flow in this region are Chambal, Sindh, Betwa, Ken, etc. The other division of the peninsular plateau is the Deccan plateau.
