Detailed Solution

The 'Charkha' represented on the tricolour flag was adopted in the year 1931. The tricolour flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya and later used. It featured a "Charkha" in the centre and three saffron, white, and green horizontal stripes. In 1931, this plan was accepted. A "spinning wheel" creates thread or yarn out of fibre. Before the Industrial Revolution, it was of utmost importance to the cotton textile industry. The terms "Khaddar" or "Khadi," which means "coarse cloth," are used to describe the fabric that is woven from the spinning wheel. The charkha came to stand for autonomy and self-reliance. The original Indian flag's Ashok Chakra was subsequently replaced in the centre. As a result, the spinning industry was founded in India. It grew over time and eventually reached its economic zenith.
