The Chinese traveler Xuan Zang visited Harshvardhan’s court.
Hieun Tsang, also known as Xuan Zang, was a Chinese Buddhist monk, traveler, scholar, translator, and historian who lived in the seventh century. On April 6, 602, he was born in the Tang dynasty. He arrived to learn gatherum Buddhism and gather data on daily life and Buddha's teachings to turn them into sacred writings. After escaping the perilous Taklamakan desert and the arduous Tien Shan mountains, he arrived along the silk road. He lived in India for seventeen years, five of which were spent studying at Nalanda University. He came during the 606–647 CE reign of King Harsh Vardhan. The "prince of pilgrims' ' was another title for him. He left for China after getting all the necessary information from Nepal and India.
