Detailed Solution

The Chola ruler who assumed the title of Gangaikonda was Rajaraja I. He defeated the Pandyas and the Cheras. Later, he built a powerful navy to control trade along the coast. The Chola fleet even took over parts of Ceylon and the Maldives. The policy of conquest and war was implemented. He also had control over the Malabar coast, Madurai, and other territories in the southeast. Rajaraja I and his son Rajendra successfully established the Chola dynasty as an economic, military, and cultural power in Asia.
