Detailed Solution

The Civil Code of 1804—commonly known as the Napoleonic Code—abolished all birth control rights, established equality before the law, and guaranteed property rights. This code was sent to the French-controlled regions. In the Dutch Republic, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, Napoleon facilitated administrative separation, abolished the feudal system, and freed farmers from paying for serfdom and manorial. In cities too, organisational restrictions were removed. Transportation and communication systems were improved. Farmers, artisans, workers, and new entrepreneurs enjoyed the newly acquired freedom. Entrepreneurs and small producers of goods, in particular, began to realise that the same rules, weighted weights and measures, and the same national currency would make it easier to move goods and commodities from one region to another.
