Detailed Solution

The Napoleonic Code, or Civil Code of 1804, abolished all privileges based on birth, thus establishing equality before the law and securing property rights. This Code was implemented throughout the territories ruled by France. In addition, Napoleon eliminated the feudal system, streamlined administrative divisions, and released peasants from serfdom and manorial dues in the Dutch Republic, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany.
