Detailed Solution

The Civil disobedience movement ended with the Gandhi-Irwin Pact. All significant figures in the movement, including Gandhi and Nehru, were detained as soon as it began. Several salt factories were established during the movement, foreign clothing was shunned, liquor stores were picketed, and peasants refused to pay revenue and chowkidar taxes. Additionally, many village authorities resigned, and numerous instances of forest law violations were reported. To put an end to the civil disobedience movement, the authorities began talks with Gandhi, who was imprisoned. As a result, Gandhi and Lord Irwin, the Viceroy of India, signed a document that became known as the "Gandhi Irwin Pact."
