Detailed Solution

The Civil Disobedience movement was launched in 1930. Taking advantage of the turmoil generated by the Great Depression, Mahatma Gandhi began the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930. The Salt Satyagraha was Mahatma Gandhi's major civil disobedience campaign in response to India's British government's salt tariff. On March 12, 1930, Gandhi led a large group of people from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, a Gujarat coastal village, to breach the salt embargo by producing salt from saltwater. Despite continual British repression, this movement did not falter.
