Detailed Solution

In 1930, the Civil Disobedience Movement was launched. Gandhi made eleven demands in a letter to Viceroy Irwin dated January 31st, 1930. Some of these were general demands, while others were specialised demands of various social classes, from industrialists to peasants. The letter warned that if the requests were not met by March 11th, the Congress would begin a campaign of civil disobedience. Irwin refused to accept the demands, and hence the Civil Disobedience Movement was launched with the start of the Dandi(Salt) March by Mahatma Gandhi.
