Detailed Solution

The civil war in Sri Lanka ended in the year 2009.
After a 26-year military struggle, the civil war in Sri Lanka ended in 2009 when the Sri Lankan military vanquished the militant Tamils. The cause of the war is the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam's (LTTE) sporadic insurgency against the government, which aimed to establish an independent Tamil state in the island's north and east parts. Widespread conflicts resulted due to the two communities' mistrust of one another, which descended into civil war. Thousands of members of both communities have died as a result. Numerous households were compelled to flee the country as refugees, and many more lost their jobs. Sri Lanka earlier had a stellar track record when it comes to economic growth, education, and health. But the country's social, cultural, and economic life have all suffered greatly as a result of this civil conflict.
