Given the coach of a cricket team buys 7 bats and 6 balls for ₹ 3800. Later, she buys 3 bats and 5 balls for ₹ 1750.
Number of bats = x
Number of balls = y
According to the question,

7 x + 6 y = 3800

----- 1
Also,
3x+5y=1750 ----- 2
Now, value of y is,
From equation 1,
6y=3800-7x

y = 3800 − 7 x 6

Putting in equation 2,

3 x + 5 y = 1750

3 x + 5 3800 − 7 x 6 = 1750

18 x + 19000 − 35 x = 1750 × 6

− 17 x = 10500 − 19000

− x = − 850017

x = 500
For y,

7 x + 6 y = 3800

7 × 500 + 6 y = 3800

6 y = 3800 − 3500

6 y = 300

y = 50
The cost of bat is ₹ 500 and cost of each ball is ₹ 50.
