Detailed Solution

The colonial power in Indonesia was Dutch.
At first, the Dutch gathered rent from arable land. Following the implementation of the blandongdiensten model, Indonesian people were granted a waiver from paying rent on arable lands inside of forests, subject only to their provision of free labor and buffaloes to cut transport transporting timber. In search of natural resources and a way of taking control, the Dutch landed in Indonesia in 1595. The colony was governed by Dutch authorities from the time of  1816 to 1941 before it was occupied by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945. Finally, on August 17, 1945,  when Indonesia was declared an independent republic. Therefore, here it can be said that option 2 is an accurate answer to this question.
