Detailed Solution

The Colonial powers of the 19th century were France, the USA, Germany and Britain.
Colonialism and liberation were forces at work around the world in the nineteenth century. An example of American imperialism in the nineteenth century is the annexation of Hawaii in 1898, which gave the United States custody and authority of all ports, structures, public properties, and many other items that had previously belonged to the Hawaiian government. Western and southern Africa became the focus of colonial interests for France, Britain, and Germany as Latin America grew increasingly hostile to European powers. Britain had become the most influential colonial power by the nineteenth century. A quarter of the world's population and approximately a fifth of its land area were under the control of the British Empire.
