Detailed Solution

Sirajuddaulah was kept in place of puppet ruler. Because Mir Jaffer and Mir Qasim had an independent spirit and wouldn't dance to the East India Company's tunes, they were deposed from the thrones of Bengal by the company. Mir Jaffar assisted the British in their victory over the Nawab of Bengal at the Battle of Plassey in 1757. He became the Nawab of Bengal as a result.

Mir Jafar, a military commander in the Bengal army, had initially helped the British defeat Siraj-ud-Daula in the pivotal Battle of Plassey in 1757. The defeat marked a significant turning point, as Siraj-ud-Daula's forces were crushed, and the British cemented their control over Bengal. Mir Jafar, who was promised the throne of Bengal in return for his betrayal of Siraj-ud-Daula, was rewarded with the title of Nawab of Bengal. However, despite his role in assisting the British, he proved to be a puppet ruler. His leadership was weak, and he lacked the strength to assert his authority against both the local population and the British, leading to his eventual removal from power.
