The Constituent Assembly, which framed The Constitution for Independent India, was set up in 1946.
On December 9, 1946, the Constituent Assembly of India had set up to make the rules for the new country of India, which would become independent on August 15, 1947. Sachchidananda Sinha was the temporary leader of the Constituent Assembly, while Dr Rajendra Prasad was the permanent head. The constituent assemblage had 389 seats, 208 controlled by the Indian National Congress and, 73 by the All India Muslim League, 93 by the Princely States in the Assembly. The associates had chosen by Single Transferable Voting System.
