The Constitution of India was framed by the Constituent Assembly.
The Constituent Assembly was an assemblage of elected representatives for framing a constitutional document. The elections for the constituted assembly had held in July 1946. The first meeting had conducted on December 1946, and the head of the drafting commission was BR Ambedkar. The assembly drafted a constitution which had embraced on the 26th of November, 1949. The constitution of India came into influence on the 26th of January 1950, the Republic day of India.
