The Constituent Assembly adopted the constitution on November 26, 1949.
On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly ratified and signed the Indian Constitution. But the assembly decided that the constitution would come into influence on January 26, 1950. As per the decision, the constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950, which marked the date of entry into force and declared the Republic day of India.
