Detailed Solution

The convex eye-lens needs to be made thicker to bring the light from a near object to a focus on the retina of the eye.
The human eye enables us to see this wonderful and colourful world. Different parts of the eyes perform different functions so that we can see objects clearly. When the light is coming from near objects, the shape of the convex lens present in the eye should be thicker because the focal length required to focus on the object located nearby is very small. Therefore the power is more because power is inverse in focal length.
