Within the nucleus transcription takes place and mRNA is produced after the post-transcriptional modification. The mRNA is released from the nucleus and it is translated with the help of ribosomes that are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum. These proteins then enter the lumen of the ER and in many cases, glycosylation is started in the ER. Then these proteins enter the golgi body and within the golgi body it is processed and packaged and ultimately released through the trans face of the golgi body in the form of vesicles. These are the secretory vesicles that ultimately fuse with the plasma membrane.
