The price per meter of carpet is Rs.80. The length of the room is 15 m. So the cost of covering the length of a room with a 75 m wide carpet can be calculated as follows:

cost of covering the length of room with carpet = 15 × 80 cost of covering the length of room with carpet = 1200 Rs

Now the total cost of the carpets in the room is Rs.19,200. We need to calculate the number of strips of 75 m wide carpet needed to cover the entire room. To calculate this, we divide the cost of carpeting the entire room by the cost of carpeting the length of the room. So the number of strips required to cover the width of the room is

number of strips of carpet = 192001200 number of strips of carpet = 16

So the number of strips required to cover the width of the room is 16. Now each strip of carpet is 75 m. So the width of the room is

width of the room = 16 × 75 width of the room = 1200 m

Therefore, the width of the room is 1200 metres.
