It is given that the cost of levelling a rectangular ground at Rs 1.25per sq. meter is Rs 900. The length of the ground is 30meters.
Surface area of floor

= \frac{total cost}{cost per m^{2}}

= \frac{900}{1.25}

= 720 m^{2}

We know that area of a rectangle =(length×breadth),
Hence,
(length×breadth) =area

\Rightarrow 30 \times (width) = 720 m^{2}

⇒width=24m
Therefore, the width of the rectangular ground is 24m.
