Detailed Solution

Given that the CP of an article is 64% of the MP.
Let the MP be Rs. 100.
Then, the CP is,
C.P =64100×100
C.P= Rs. 64.
Discount is 12%.
We know,
Discount %=Discount PriceMP×100
Discount price =12100×100
Discount=Rs.12
Hence,
SP= MP - Discount
SP=100-12
S.P=Rs.88 Therefore,
Profit = SP - CP
Profit=88-64
Profit=Rs.24 Profit % = ProfitC.P.×100
Profit % = 2464×100
Profit=37.5%
Thus, the profit % is 37.5%.
Therefore, the correct option is 1.
