The canal is 8 m wide at the top and 6 m wide at the bottom and the area of cross-section is 644 sq m.
We have to find the depth of the canal.
We know, area of trapezium =12×(Sum of parallel sides) ×(altitude)
Since, area of trapezium =  12(8+6) × h
644=  12(8+6) × h
644=  12(14) × h
7h=644 h=6447  h=92m Thus, depth of canal = 92m.
