Consider the figure of canal,
Question ImageWe have to find the depth of the canal.
Area of a trapezium =12×(sum of parallel sides) ×depth.
A= 1 2 × l 1 + l 2 ×h   So, putting the respective values, we get,
84=12×(12+8)×h 84=20h2 84=10h h=8410 h=8.4cm Therefore, the depth of canal=8.4cm.
