The delta formed by the rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra is known as the Sundarban Delta. The Brahmaputra river and Ganga river join together to form the Meghna river in Bangladesh, the huge amount of deposits forming the world's largest and fastest growing delta - Sundarban Delta, with roughly 3,860 square miles area. Like any other delta, it is marshland and supports a mangrove forest type. Home of a well-known Indian species of Tiger - The Bengal Tiger. Other important species include:- Rhesus Macaque, Leopard cat etc. A few of its areas are also enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites.
