The deposition of a thin layer of any metal over another piece of metal using an electric current is called Electroplating.
Electroplating is the process where an electric current is used to deposit a thin layer of one metal over the surface of another metal. The metal on which the thin layer of material is deposited is usually considered less expensive. Electroplating is done for the shinier appearance of the cheaper metal.
