The Depressed Classes Association was formed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. One of the veteran leaders in Indian history, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, created the All India Depressed Classes Association in 1930 to ensure that the Scheduled Castes received fair participation in India's decision-making organisations. It was founded with the aim of bringing together the underprivileged classes and communities. The majority of them came from so-called untouchable groups and the lower castes. Due to their poverty, lack of opportunities, and unequal treatment, they were the worst victims in society. The organisation was established to raise awareness and fight for their rights.
