It is given that the cone is 24 cm in height and 14 cm in diameter.

∴ r = 142 =7 cm  and h = 24 cm .

We know that the curved surface area of a cone is

π r r 2 + h 2,

where r is the radius of the base and h is the cone's height.

∴ C S A = π × 7 × 72 + 242 cm 2 = 227 × 7 × 625 cm 2 = 22 × 25 cm 2 = 550 cm 2

Therefore the cone’s curved surface area will be

550 cm 2 .
