Detailed Solution

The difference between political leaders and the separate electorate was because of differences of opinion. Members who supported the minorities and the Dalits believed that only political empowerment would improve their social backwardness. Others believed that their addition to the electorate would further slow down the process of their integration into society. It feared that society would be divided into numerous fragments because every community or class would then start asking their electorates for their representation in any political activities that were to take place. Dr B.R. Ambedkar fought for the rights of a separate electorate, and Gandhiji opposed it.
