Detailed Solution

The formation of spermatozoa from spermatids is called spermiogenesis. During spermiogenesis, the non-motile spermatid transforms into motile sperm by reducing the volume of cytoplasm, formation of acrosome,  head, neck, middle piece, and tail. During this transformation, the spermatids do not divide. Spermiation involves the release of sperms from seminiferous tubules through Sertoli cells.
