Detailed Solution

The dimension of the metallic cuboid is 30 cm × 20 cm × 15 cm and its mass is 30 kg. The pressure exerted by the cuboid when it is resting on the face having 20 cm×15 cm on the table is =104 pa.
Given that, to calculate the pressure of a cuboid face with dimensions 20 cm×15 cm
= 20 cm×15 cm
= 300×10-4 m2
Pressure is defined as the force per unit area.
Pressure (P) = ForceFAreaA
Force acting block on the surface of the table, = mg
m is the mass and g is the acceleration due to gravity.
Here the pressure exerted on an area A for an object of mass m is
P=mgA
g is acceleration due to gravity of earth.
P= 30 kg ×10 m/s2300×10-4m2
= 104 kg/ms2
= 104 pa
Hence the pressure exerted by the cuboid is  104 pa.
