Detailed Solution

Given equation is y(x,t)=0.06sin2πx3cos(120πt)

(i) Comparing with a standard equation of stationary wave

    y (x , t) = asin (kx) cos(ωt)

    Clearly, the given equation belongs to stationary wave.

     Hence, option (i) is not correct.

(ii) By comparing,

                    ω=120π      2πf =120π           f =60Hz

(iii)  k=2π3=2πλ

           λ = wavelength = 3 m

     Frequency = f =60 Hz

    Speed = v = fλ = (60 Hz) (3 m) = 180 m/s

(iv) Since in stationary wave, all particles of the medium execute SHM with varying amplitude nodes.
