Given

AB = 20 m

AE = 17 m

CE = 28 m

Therefore,

CE = AB + DE

28 = 20 + DE

DE = 8

Let AD be x.

A E^{2} = A D^{2} + D E^{2}

{(17)}^{2} = x^{2} + {(8)}^{2}

x^{2} = 289 - 64
