Detailed Solution

The Domestic Violence Act was introduced in Parliament in 2005. The definition of "domestic" is widened by the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005 to include any women who live with a male abuser now or in the past. In December 2002, the Rajya Sabha received the Standing Committee's recommendations, which were also delivered to the Lok Sabha. The majority of the demands the women's groups put out were included in the Committee's report. Finally, a new law was introduced in Parliament in 2005. After passing both chambers of Parliament, it was given to the President for approval.
