The distances travelled by the two cyclists must be equal: $\frac{a_{1} t^{2}}{2} = \frac{a_{2} {(t - 3)}^{2}}{2}; \frac{a_{2}}{a_{1}} = {(\frac{t}{t - 3})}^{2} \Rightarrow \frac{t}{t - 3} = 2; \Rightarrow t = 6 \min .$
