Detailed Solution

The earliest kind of print technology was developed in Japan, Korea, and China. Buddhist missionaries from China introduced the hand-printing invention to Japan around 768–770 AD. The Buddhist Diamond Sutra, released in 868 AD, was the most well-known Japanese book. Beginning in AD 594, books in China were produced by rubbing paper against the inked surface of woodblocks. The traditional Chinese 'accordion book' was folded and stitched at the side due to the inability to print on both sides of the thin, porous sheet.
