Detailed Solution

The easternmost station of the Golden Quadrilateral Super Highway is in West Bengal. The Golden Quadrilateral Super Highways is a road network connecting the top metropolitan cities of India. It has Mumbai (Maharashtra) in the west, Kolkata (West Bengal) in the east, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) in the south, and Delhi in the north as the extremes of this National Highway, reducing the distance between the cities. It is the largest of the highways in India, launched in 2001 under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP). The roads, when connected, have the shape of a quadrilateral extending over a distance of 5846 km with four or six-lane express highways. These roads make up about 2% of the total road network and account for 40% of the total road traffic in India.
