The energy obtained from the hotspots of the earth's crust is called geothermal energy.
The energy generated from the hot rocks and stored in the earth is Geothermal Energy. The geological changes form molten rocks in the deeper hot regions of the earth's crust. They are pushed upward and confined in certain regions, called the hot spot.
The underground water comes in contact with the hot spot, and steam is generated.
Sometimes this hot water finds outlets at the surface. These outlets are called hot springs.
The steam confined in rocks is then routed via a pipe to a turbine. Thus electricity is generated.
