Let V be the final velocity acquired in this case when accelerated for time t1 . Let t2 be the time for which it retards. Let  S1 and S2  be the distances covered in these two cases then   
V2=2a1S1=2a2S2
 S1=V22a1=V210 and S2=V22a2=V220,Here,S1+S2=1500m

V210+V220=1500V=100ms1
