Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The silkworm's life cycle begins with the formation of an egg. A female moth lays the egg, which is mostly the size of a small dot. A female moth can lay over 350 eggs at once. The eggs hatch in the spring because of the warmth in the air. This procedure is performed once a year. After the eggs hatch, a hairy silkworm emerges. Growth occurs in silkworms at this stage. They feed on mulberry leaves and eat a lot of them for about 30 days before moving on to the next stage. Silkworms spin a protective cocoon around themselves at this stage. It is about the size of a small cotton ball and is made of a single silk thread. The pupa stage is completely motionless. People kill the pupa at this stage by immersing the cocoon in boiling water and unwinding the silk thread. The pupa transforms into an adult moth at this stage. After mating, the female moth lays eggs, and the silkworm's life cycle begins again.
