The gland shown in the picture is the adrenal gland. ‘A’ represents the adrenal cortex whereas ‘B’ represents the adrenal medulla. The adrenal cortex produces steroid hormones called corticoids. The adrenal medulla produces epinephrine and norepinephrine which are amino acid derivatives.
